Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton are set to clash for the WWE Championship at the Aug. 11 SummerSlam pay-per-view, and the trash talk between the two superstars has reached another level.

Orton pointed out the fact that he's had three World Championship reigns begin at SummerSlam, vowing that he'll make it four this year.

Kingston responded and called out Orton for burying him 10 years ago, while referencing a memorable moment where the Viper called him "stupid" during one of their matches.

The incident Kingston is referring to took place back in 2010 in a match against Orton. The former botched the ending of a match, and a visibly frustrated Orton screamed out "Stupid," before finally finishing Kingston.

At that time, Kingston was in line for a major main event push - but it's been suggested that the incident made Orton so angry to the point where WWE decided to end Kingston's main event push.

Here we are nearly a decade later, and Kingston finally wound up receiving the massive and well-deserved main event push. He took down Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 to become the new WWE Champion, and Kingston now has the chance to avenge Orton for calling him "stupid" while allegedly ending his main event run some years ago.

Kingston has had successful title defenses against Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and Samoa Joe, but defeating a future Hall of Famer like Orton would certainly enhance his push even more. It promises to be an excellent match between two supreme talents in the ring, and the buildup should only get better from here on out.

What This Means

The redemption storyline adds to the intrigue of this match between Kingston and Orton. It would be an incredible moment if Kingston was able to take down the man who supposedly ruined his main event push nearly 10 years ago.
