The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers rivalry is sure to leave some lasting memories, considering the quantity of future Hall of Famers featured and the fact they met four straight times in the NBA Finals.

This rivalry is dead now, however, with LeBron James a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. But nobody will forget 'The Block,' and the Cavs' first NBA Championship victory in 2016.

Nobody will forget Kevin Durant's ice-in-the-veins three-pointer in the final minute of Game 3 back in 2017. And nobody will forget the easy sweep for Golden State in the 2018 Finals that ultimately led to LeBron's departure from The Land.

The Warriors and Cavaliers are set for a rematch in Cleveland on Wednesday night. Klay Thompson took a big-time shot at the long-time rivals for their "pettiness," ahead of the game.

Specifically, he was referencing the Cavaliers' 2016 Halloween party - which poked fun at the Warriors' loss in the NBA Finals,.

"Oh, yeah. Ha! That was funny," Thompson said, via Anthony Slater of The Athletic. "Look how that turned out. Psssh. Bums. That was crazy. I forgot about that. Well, look at what pettiness gets you. Gets you 1-8 in the Finals. Idiots."

The Cavaliers just had no chance in defeating a star-studded Golden State team that signed former MVP Kevin Durant in the 2016 offseason. Mind you, the 65-win Houston Rockets from last season are the only team that has come close to beating Golden State since KD signed there two years ago.

But at the end of the day, James made the city of Cleveland champions again, just as he had promised. For Thompson, the easy dominance of the Cavs in the 2017 and '18 Finals was pure joy, even though the Dubs didn't have to break much of a sweat.

What This Means

Thompson delivers the ultimate shot here at a Cavaliers team that is now among the worst in the NBA right now. With no more LeBron James, this rivalry will fade out as quickly as it began.
