Former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant has managed to convince everyone he's on board with LeBron James joining his old side. And, as it turns out, he even advised the organization on what it would take to lure The King.

The erstwhile star, a five-time NBA champion who spent all of his 17-year career with the Lakers, took part in a Q&A session with The Undefeated recently and revealed that team owner Jeanie Buss sought his opinion before going after LeBron.

Kobe told Jeanie that she could forget about the four-time MVP if she didn't clean up house.

"I’ll tell you, when [Lakers owner] Jeanie Buss came to me and said, ‘I really want to go after [LeBron],’ I said, ‘Jeanie, he’s not coming here until you clean up this s**t here'," Bryant said.

"The last thing LeBron wants to do is come to an organization that has a lot of infighting, a lot of the stuff going on.

"I said, ‘Jeanie, it’s time for you to take ownership of this franchise. He’s not going to come if you don’t'."

Bryant also has huge hopes for the Lakers this year and is confident they could beat the Golden State Warriors in the postseason if they play to their strengths.

"The Lakers are going to surprise a lot of people," he added. "Rob [Pelinka, the Lakers’ general manager], has smartly built a team of physical players. Big, versatile, fast, physical players. He understands that if you want to challenge Golden State, you can’t challenge them with shooting. That’s what they do."

Asked if his former side will definitely make it to the playoffs, Bryant seemed quite sure they would.

"Oh, God, yes. C’mon," he said. And after being told that many people don't think they can make it, even with LeBron in the mix, he laughed off the suggestion.

The Lakers, however, still look some way off from unseating any of the regulars in the Western Conference playoff picture at the moment.

But, of course, it's still early days and they could become quite the powerhouse out West if they can string a few wins together.

Having LeBron is obviously going to be a big help too.
