Kofi Kingston is understandably proud of New Day's recent achievements, with all three members of the band now carrying silverware.

Kingston won the WWE Championship by beating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania back in May while Xavier Woods and Big E have since become SmackDown tag team champs, having emerged winners against Bryan, Rowan and Heavy Machinery at Extreme Rules earlier this month.

Tag success is nothing new to the group as their last win was their sixth, but none of them had ever held the WWE or Universal belt before Kofi's feat at WrestleMania.

The Ghanaian recently spoke to Gamestop and described his feelings on the faction's current championship status.

“This is what we wanted. I take a lot of pride in being a beacon of hope for people who haven’t achieved what they wanted to achieve even though they’ve had to wait for a very long time to do it," he said, via 411Mania.

"Woods and [Big] E as well same thing, we take a lot of pride. Cause it’s not just me, even though I’m holding the championship title, doesn’t mean it’s just me.

"This title is for all of us. But now that Woods [and Big E] have won the Tag Team Championships, we’re all dripping in all the gold, you know what I’m saying? …it’s the greatest thing in the world. We are all champions. It’s crazy to think about that because it happened almost five years to the day that we were seen on TV as a unit.”

Kingston recently surpassed the 100-day mark as WWE champion and is surprisingly just the fourth person to hold the WWE title for 100 or more days, with Jinder Mahal, AJ Stylez and Bryan the only others to do so.

“It feels like a really weird time warp," the 37-year-old declared. "WrestleMania feels like it was a really long time ago but it also feels like it was just yesterday. Blessed. Hashtag blessed. It was unreal. That’s the kind of moment that you strive to have as a WWE superstar. When I was a kid, this is all that I ever wanted to do. It was always my dream when I was doing what I wasn’t supposed to be doing by wrestling other kids in the neighborhood.”

Kofi's reign as champion has been great to watch and it's every bit deserved. His boys having belts of their own makes New Day the top dogs in WWE at the moment and it's really quite refreshing, save the pancakes.
