WWE fans continue to await for the return of Dean Ambrose - who's been sidelined since December as he recovers from a torn triceps injury.

It was originally reported that Ambrose would miss up to nine months of action, and it's already been five. In a Q&A on his Facebook page, Raw general manager Kurt Angle was asked about when Ambrose would return. Here was his response:

"LISTEN EVERYONE. Dean is healing nicely. He will be back soon!!!!! I get this question every week. I know how popular he is but asking me when he will return will not make him return any sooner than he can. He will be back soon. Promise."

PWInsider.com recently reported that Ambrose was living full-time in Birmingham, Alabama, continuing to train through his injury. But as of now, there is no firm timetable on when The Lunatic will return.

If the nine-month time frame on Ambrose was right, that would mean he wouldn't return until September - after the SummerSlam pay-per-view. Of course, some of these injuries can recover quicker than expected, but sometimes longer as well.

Ambrose and The Shield have only been reunited for a couple of months before his injury. WWE then used Jason Jordan - Angle's storyline son - as Ambrose's replacement in The Shield. He and Seth Rollins briefly held the Raw Tag Team Championships, but Jordan has been out of action since February after undergoing neck surgery.

Not long after Ambrose's injury, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that there plans for the former WWE Champion to turn bad guy after WrestleMania 34 by turning on The Shield.

That major plan obviously couldn't take place, and it's anybody's guess what will transpire when he returns. The Shield has since stopped working together, with Rollins now holding the Intercontinental Championship and Roman Reigns feuding with Brock Lesnar.

When Ambrose returns, it's possible we'll see The Shield reunite for good this time around. But it may certainly depend on when he returns, and we can only hope his recovery continues to go smoothly.
