Kurt Angle announced on Monday night's edition of Raw, that his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 will be against none other than Baron Corbin.

Last week on WWE's flagship show, Angle appeared to announce that he was heading to the company's biggest show of the year with the intention of wrestling his final match in WWE. He didn't announce who he'd be facing but after wrestling Apollo Crews as the first opponent of his farewell tour and in his hometown of Pittsburgh, it was later reported in the week that on tonight's edition of the show, Angle would announce his WrestleMania 35 opponent. The WWE Universe spent the week trying to guess as to who Angle might be facing.

Would it be John Cena, Shelton Benjamin, The Undertaker or someone else? Many superstars came forward to say they'd be honored to be part of the match and WWE.com wrote an article suggesting a few ideas. On Monday, Angle made it official.

Angle stood in the center of the ring and announced that there was only one man he "wanted to beat". Hoping to make him tap out after making his life a living hell since he became a part of WWE Raw, Angle announced was going to wrestle Baron Corbin.

What This Means

Angle's final match will certainly be another draw for a WrestleMania card that has less than three weeks to round itself out. Unfortunately, Corbin doesn't bring a lot of marketability to the matchup and fans will certainly be disappointed Angle isn't getting a bigger-name opponent for his final match. An Olympic gold medalist and one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots in WWE, much of the WWE Universe will argue that he deserved better than Corbin to end things. The immediate reactions on social media to the announcement by WWE weren't exactly flattering.

Angle said this was someone he was allowed to choose. Something suggests this was a WWE choice all the way, and one meant to give Angle a win on the way out the door.
