Kurt Angle said during an interview that he wished he was facing John Cena but that WWE and Cena had other match plans for him at WrestleMania 35.

He probably wasn't supposed to say it, but during an interview with Gorilla Position, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, who has his farewell match this Sunday, may have spoiled a WrestleMania 35 surprise when it comes to the role John Cena is expected to play in the show Kurt's involvement with the 16-time champ.

After being asked about his thoughts on Cena being at WWE’s biggest show of the year and seven-hour spectacle, Angle shared that, like a lot of fans, he wished his match would have been with Cena instead of Baron Corbin. This is opposite of what Angle said when he spoke to the WWE Universe during his in-ring promo stating that his last match would be at WrestleMania 35.

During that same interview, Angle then dropped a tidbit of news that WWE had not yet confirmed on their website or social media accounts. He said:

“I love John, and I know that he will have a WrestleMania match. I’m not sure if they announced it yet, but I’m almost positive he’s gonna be there.”

What This Means

Does this Angle interview provide a hint that John Cena is not going to be working with Kurt Angle? If Angle is telling the truth, it sure appears that way. Then again, if you think the former Olympic champion is teasing everyone and setting viewers up to be pleasantly surprised, then you may have gotten something else completely out of this segment.

Either way, it appears to confirm that Cena will be at WrestleMania and he will be wrestling someone.
