Kurt Angle took to social media late Friday and WWE.com announced that the former Olympic champion will address WWE fans about his future on this Monday's upcoming Raw.

In a Tweet that was sent out late Friday evening, Angle wrote, "From my amazing WWE HOF career, to may work as GM or Raw, to the way things have gone down the past couple of months, I will address my future in WWE this week on Monday Night Raw"

Speculation is, with the amount of losing Angle has done in recent weeks and with how often he's looked less than his typical "Angle self", he might be announcing his retirement from the ring.

Other speculation might be that he wants one last match at WrestleMania with some joking that he might even be headed to AEW. In reality, whatever announcement Angle plans to make, it's big enough that WWE is promoting what he's got to say a few days out from Raw as a way to draw in viewers.

Recently, Angle lost in defeat to Baron Corbin. The night before he was the first person eliminated from the Royal Rumble match. His return was highlighted by a match at WrestleMania 34 that included Ronda Rousey's debut, but beyond that, he's not done much in WWE, certainly not what he would have hoped after making his return to the company.

WWE.com wrote in the public statement, "It is unclear at this time just what Angle will be announcing, but you won’t want to miss whatever the four-time WWE Champion has to say."

What This Means

It shouldn't surprise anyone if Angle calls it quits as far as his in-ring wrestling career goes. But, fans also shouldn't be surprised if a storyline develops where Angle and Baron Corbin perhaps have a career versus career match, potentially culminating at WrestleMania 35.

The Hall of Famer and former WWE great may not be what he once was, but if this is the end, it would be nice to see WWE treat him with some respect on the way out. He's certainly earned it.
