Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving was probably not expecting to get into a basketball argument with a kid during a hospital visit. Yet that's exactly what he got after joining several of his teammates on a charitable mission at the Boston Children's Hospital.
Sports personalities do stuff like that all the time and the visit is usually marked by smiles, a bit of talk and loads of pictures. But Kyrie had an unusual experience this week, and he enjoyed it too.
The point guard got into it quite deeply with a young boy over college basketball, and things took a wild turn when Duke University, the player's alma mater, was brought up.

The Blue Devils are 7-1 this season, with their only loss coming against Gonzaga in the Maui Invitational. Of course, there's hardly any reason to level criticism at them nowadays, but this kid had some stuff to get off his chest and seized the opportunity with both hands.
“Whoa, we were just talking about Michigan-UNC, you didn’t have to bring Duke into it!” Kyrie shot back after a quip.
The pair had a playful and humorous argument and, at one point, Irving could be heard saying: “Because we’re Duke. That’s why. That’s why you’re so mad! Because we’re Duke!”
The youngster was of the opinion that Duke is overrated but, in the end, he had to give credit where it was due and admitted that they're one of the best college team's he's seen.
What This Means
This must have been a fun experience for everyone involved, especially the young boy - it's not every day you get into an argument with an NBA superstar who also has a movie.
It would have probably been more fun to watch them delve into specifics regarding the Earth's shape. But that's bound to happen at some point; we can wait.
