Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom has revealed plans to play in the BIG3 league, as well as the Chinese Basketball Association.

Now 38, Odom is looking for another run out on the court before officially retiring from basketball.

Last Thursday, ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward reported that the veteran forward will play in Ice Cube's BIG3 next season ahead of a move to China in 2019.

And Odom confirmed the report a day later, claiming he's been cleared by his doctors.

"Yes to playing for the @thebig3 next season right before playing the CBA 2019 season in China," he posted on Instagram.

"Working hard right now to get my physical right ! you all know, my body has been through allot these years but I have been cleared healthy by my doctors to play again.

"There is no better way for me to retire from Basketball then to play one more time. My fans deserve it and I can't wait to play again.

"I want to thank @clutchpoints and @ryanwardla for doing this cool interview that you can find on www.clutchpoints.com."

Per Ward's report, Odom isn't ruling out a return to the NBA either and will consider heading back if a team comes knocking.

The forward's last involvement in the NBA came with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2012-2013 and he last played for Spanish side Saski Baskonia in 2013-2014.

Odom's NBA career lasted 14 years; he played with the Clippers, Miami Heat, Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. He helped the Lakers win two championships playing alongside Kobe Bryant and was the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year with the Lakers at the end of the 2010-2011 campaign.

Things came crashing down when he was traded to Dallas, however. Depression took over and Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in 2015, after which he nearly died as a result of a drug overdose.

Earlier this year, the 38-year-old was interviewed by Kevin Hart and revealed that he suffered 12 strokes and six heart attacks during the ordeal.

But he's now looking to return to the game and make an exit the way he sees fit after being cleared to play again.
