Larry Drew and the Cleveland Cavaliers are no longer at odds, with the team finally giving in and restructuring his deal.

Drew will remain the Cavs head coach for the rest of the season and he has also been handed a partial guarantee for the 2019-20 campaign.

Drew, who was appointed coach in the wake of Tyronn Lue's firing, had been negotiating with the team over a restructured deal. He demanded security, guarantees and a hike in pay, all of which have since been granted.

Per NBA.com, the new deal includes a team option for next season that will see him bought out if the team opts to part ways.

"So now there's clarity," Drew said before the Cavs played the Orlando Magic on Monday night. "There's just no gray area, and because there's no gray area and me and my staff can just roll our sleeves up put all into helping this team be successful.

"The discussion we had was about moving forward with what we have and what we want to accomplish. We want to do everything to put (rookie guard) Collin (Sexton) in a position to be successful. We're going to try and move forward and keep this team competitive.

"I embrace the challenge. My staff embraces the challenge."

The 60-year-old was hesitant over proceeding as coach without guarantees from Cleveland but had vowed to remain professional and carry on with his job during negotiations. And, with the team finally giving him what he wants, he is ready to move forward and help them win games.

"Obviously we're a different team because of what has transpired within the past 12 months, and then coming into the season, having to lose Kevin Love," he added. "We've got to ask more of our players with Kevin being out, that's the reality, and we're prepared to do that.

"Now that this is behind us, we can really lock in and focus, and try to continue to teach and get this team moving."

The Cavs, though, are 1-3 under Drew after losing 102-100 to the Magic on Monday.
