There were reports that Lars Sullivan was penciled in to take on John Cena at WrestleMania 35. However, those plans may have now changed.

WWE has been teasing the main roster arrival of six NXT Superstars for weeks now, and one of them for even longer. In the same week that the McMahon family returned to TV to shake things up, the latest batch of call-ups was revealed. Since then, the same video package hyping their arrival has aired during every single episode of Raw and SmackDown Live.

However, that did change this week, sort of. A couple of the promised stars competed in untelevised matches on Monday night. Lacey Evans took on Natalya and EC3 added to Curt Hawkins woes by keeping the Raw Superstar's losing streak intact. We're assuming that Evans and EC3 are Raw-bound due to their matches this week.

However, it is being reported that Lars Sullivan was meant to compete on Monday as well. This is where things get a little confusing. According to Wrestling Inc, there have been varying reports on why Sullivan didn't have a match this week. Some are saying he showed up to the arena, had an anxiety attack, and was sent home. Others have been told that Sullivan never showed up to Raw at all.

Either way, Sullivan was rumored to have been at SmackDown Live the next day too and no-showed yet again. If all of this is true, Sullivan may have thrown away more than he realizes. Wrestling Observer Newsletter had reported that WWE was planning to put him opposite John Cena at WrestleMania 35. That would have been quite the meteoric rise in the space of fewer than three months. The likelihood of that still happening if any of the above reports are true is low.

It is plain to see to anyone who has been watching WWE for a few years why Sullivan has been called up to the main roster. Vince McMahon probably got one look at him and almost passed out. However, if the former NXT Superstar didn't show up to Raw and/or SmackDown Live without good reason, that won't sit well with the boss no matter how big you are. Plus, who will Cena face at WrestleMania now?
