Backstage News On Which Cities Are Being Considered For WrestleMania 37

WrestleMania 36 is slated to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay next year, but it sounds like WWE is interested in going back to the west coast for its big show in 2021.

According to Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times,  Los Angeles is the early favorite to host WrestleMania 37. By then, the new Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park in downtown Inglewood will have opened its doors.

Following Markazi's report, WrestleVotes added that Las Vegas is another city in the running to host WrestleMania 37.

Both cities are obviously among the biggest markets and most populated in the United States, and they both attract tens of millions of tourists every year. And of course, they both have suitable venues to host WrestleMania.

Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas should be finished by 2020. It'll be the home of the Las Vegas Raiders (the team currently plays in Oakland), and the NCAA UNLV Rebels football club. Allegiant Stadium will hold over 65,000 seats, while LA's downtown Inglewood stadium will hold over 70,000.

Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park will be the home of Super Bowl LVI in three years from now, and it's expected to serve as a venue for the 2028 Summer Olympic games - as well as various college football games.

WrestleMania 2 was held in three different cities: Los Angeles, Rosemont, Illinois and Uniondale, New York. Los Angeles also hosted WrestleMania VII and WrestleMania 21 in 1991 and 2005, respectively. The only time the Grandest Stage of Them All came to Vegas was back in 1993, when WrestleMania IX was held at Caesars Palace.

We should find out in approximately seven months where WrestleMania 37 will take place. In March 2018, WWE announced that WrestleMania 35 would take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. This part March, they announced that WrestleMania 36 would happen in Tampa Bay. So if recent indication is an indication of anything, we'll find out next March as to which city will host WrestleMania in two years.

What This Means

It would not be a surprise if they finally come back to the west coast, especially with Vegas and Los Angeles ready to open up brand new stadiums. Both are major markets, and they've both held countless major sporting events throughout the years. Hopefully, WWE gives one of them a chance to host the big show in two years.
