WWE has revealed that The Shield will compete in one more match together, and it will air live on the WWE Network this Sunday.

It feels as if we have been talking about the imminent WWE departure of Dean Ambrose forever. About three months after the news initially broke, the time is almost upon us. While we don't know when exactly Ambrose's contract comes to an end, it is highly likely that we have seen the last of him on WWE television.

While Ambrose's days on Raw and SmackDown Live might well be numbered, it has been revealed that his time on the WWE Network has not come to an end. We're not talking about archived footage, but live appearances. WWE has revealed that The Lunatic will wrestle live one more time alongside his Shield brothers, and the match will air live on the Network this Sunday.

The event has been labeled The Shield's Last Chapter and will naturally feature a match that pits Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins against three mystery opponents. While we don't currently know the runtime of the show, we do know it will begin at 9:30 pm EST on the Network this Sunday (April 21). It will also feature an Intercontinental Title match pitting current champ Finn Balor against an unnamed Superstar.

The Ambrose departure saga has been a fascinating one. For starters, some fans are still not convinced that the former WWE Champion is actually leaving. His continued appearances on WWE after his departure had been announced are likely what has led to that skepticism. While we do think Ambrose is on his way out, we wouldn't be surprised to see an elaborate angle unfold either on SmackDown Live or on this weekend's Network special.

By this time next week, we will almost definitely know one way or the other whether Ambrose is staying or going. Reigns and Rollins have both admitted to trying to convince their fellow Hound Of Justice to stay. One thing's for certain, WWE will hate the idea of not being able to reunite The Shield whenever there's a ratings dip. Why not get one last match out of them before The Lunatic is gone for good?
