Women's wrestling tandem Michelle McCool and Layla, otherwise known as LayCool, is interested in an in-ring return to compete for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles.

WWE's women's division hit another big milestone this past Monday on Raw. During A Moment Of Bliss, Alexa Bliss unveiled the promotion's first Women's Tag Titles. Bliss also revealed that the first holders of the new championships will be decided at Elimination Chamber, inside the structure after which the PPV is named.

That means there are currently six places up for grabs inside that chamber. Some of those places will go to obvious contenders. Ready-made teams like The Iiconics, Riott Squad, and The Boss 'N' Hug Connection. However, we will likely see one or two surprises enter the match as well. Perhaps we could even see female teams from the past return.

One of those teams has already declared their interest in coming back to win the brand new championships. The pairing of Michelle McCool and Layla, creatively known as LayCool when they teamed together. When a fan asked the two of them on Twitter whether they would consider a reunion, both women responded. McCool wrote "all they gotta do is ask," while Layla added "it all depends how much the WWE Universe and WWE" wants to see the reunion.

In a way, LayCool was actually Women's Tag Team Champions before the titles ever existed. Together, they held the Women's Title and the Divas' Title at the same time. That's what led to the Women's Championship being retired for a number of years as the belts were merged under LayCool's reigns. Ten years later and there are now some real-life Tag Team Titles up for grabs.

When it comes to returns, McCool actually made a couple of brief cameo appearances in WWE during 2018. The former Women's Champion made surprise appearances in the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match and also the battle royal at Evolution. Layla has not yet made a comeback during WWE's women's revolution. Perhaps the introduction of Women's Tag Team Titles and enough fans calling for a LayCool reunion could bring her out of the wrestling woodwork.
