Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has teamed up with Cindy Crawford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Lindsey Vonn to start up a health and wellness company called Ladder, according to Alexandra Bruell of the Wall Street Journal.

The company's origins stem from James infamously cramping up in Game 1 of the 2014 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

A reported air conditioning malfunction left the AT&T Center much hotter than usual and the star was forced to exit the game as a result of unbearable muscle cramps.

LeBron is said to have asked his trainer for something that would make him healthier and stronger during the offseason but nothing was considered safe enough. Ultimately, the trainer developed a custom supplement for the player, who has had no fitness issues whatsoever since then.

The company will kick things off by offering two protein powders, a greens powder, and an energy powder, with the aforementioned personalities banding together to launch their own products as opposed to endorsing brands from other entities.

“It’s an organically developed company, versus a company coming to us and saying, ‘We’ll give you some stock if we can use your name’," Schwarzenegger said in an interview. "That’s what I’ve done in the past, but I didn’t have the control. That’s why I got out of the deals.”

The products, which are said to be certified by testing organization NSF international, will be sold directly to customers who subscribe via weareladder.com.

An open letter from the company's website reads: "We believe the time has come to shift the mindset of the wellness industry, and that requires strength in numbers. That’s why we’ve combined our unique perspectives to create a more balanced approach to fitness, nutrition, and health.

"We know there is no magic pill. Living your best life takes work. Our goal is to provide support and better information, so that you don’t waste your time or feel frustrated or misunderstood.

"Ladder is health and fitness the way it should be: transparent, simple, and accessible. We believe life is a workout. It doesn’t matter if you prefer to be in front of (or behind) a camera, on a basketball court, the runway, the slopes, or any other environment. We are the support system to help you reach the top."

What This Means

That you'll probably never suffer from cramping if you subscribe. But, in all seriousness, this is an admirable venture.

Schwarzenegger knows a thing or two about health and fitness, so his involvement is a huge plus. And, given what we know about the aging yet timeless LeBron, Ladder's products could be a gamechanger.
