It appears Vince McMahon is no longer going to be hands-off when it comes to the NXT brand, its storylines, and characters. A recent report suggests he's taking a keen interest in certain aspects of the show.

For the most part, Vince McMahon has left NXT alone, leaving Triple H, Road Dogg, and Shawn Michaels to produce the television broadcasts and pay-per-views. That's about to change.

Of late, especially with declining ratings and changes in the writing team — including relieving Paul Heyman of his duties on Raw — Vince has re-examined his involvement in every brand and every show, NXT included.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that McMahon's influence might already be on display. He noted the recent finishes to the show’s matches and the “winner takes all” stipulation makes it “obvious” that McMahon has had some interest and involvement in the show.

NXT it’s obvious to me that Vince has taken interest in it. We had a throw up scene. We had a build for, you know, they’re really building for the championship thing on TV in particular, the winner take all.

If McMahon is really going to get involved, it will be interesting to see just how much the show changes.

More "Sports Entertainment" Than Wrestling?

One of the reasons fans seem to like NXT so much is that it really puts the wrestling on display. While there have been recent arguments the talent don't sell and react as well to actual wrestling maneuvers, there is much less soap opera writing on the show.

If McMahon gets involved on a regular basis, that's bound to change as Vince doesn't see WWE as a wrestling product. What do you think? Should McMahon stay away? Or, would he actually help the product if some of his input was added more regularly?
