Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is set to hit free agency this March, and there's virtually no chance he decides to re-sign with them after opting to sit out all of 2019.

The 26-year-old Bell may be the most sought-after free agent when free agency opens, and there will certainly be quite a bidding war for the Pro Bowl running back. However, one team appears to already have a leg up on the competition.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, one source said that Bell "has his eyes on" Andrew Luck's Indianapolis Colts, and that the 8-6 club is seemingly at the "top of his list." The New York Jets are also in on the Bell sweepstakes, and he hasn't "ruled out signing," there, per Vacchiano.

As Vacchiano points out, the Colts figure to have over $120 million in salary cap space in 2019, giving them all the room and incentive to go for Bell. Though Marlon Mack has fit in nicely under the offense installed by rookie head coach Frank Reich, Bell would certainly add another dynamic to that offense.

"He has his eyes on the Colts, no doubt about that," the source told Vacchiano. "He sees Luck and that offense and all that cap room and they're much closer than the Jets. He wants to go someplace he can win right away."

2018 was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Colts, but coach Reich has done a phenomenal job building an elite offensive unit and above-average defense. The Colts sit at 8-6 and have a very good shot at making the playoffs this season.

Even if they don't, Luck has regained his MVP caliber form, despite concerns about a shoulder injury that forced him to miss all of 2017. With Luck, Mack and Darius Leonard leading the way, the Colts have a promising future - and they figure to be a perennial Super Bowl contender from here on out.

What This Means

The Colts have everything to offer Bell, if he wants to sign here. There's an elite quarterback in Luck, a genius offensive-minded head coach, and a promising young core. On top of that, the Colts have the cap space to give Bell whatever contract he wants.

The bidding war for Bell promises to be an intriguing one - likely between the Colts and Jets.
