Lex Luger has admitted regret over the way he left WWE for WCW. Luger, one of the most memorable wrestlers of the 1990s, completely blindsided Vince McMahon as he appeared on the first episode of WCW Nitro in 1994 while still thought to be negotiating a contract extension with WWE.

Due to the nature of his negotiations with WCW, he had to make the move without telling anyone from WWE. The former wrestler was a guest on a recent episode of Sean Waltman's Pro Wrestling 4 Life and explained that Eric Bischoff didn't want word of his Nitro appearance getting out so he had to fashion the switch in a very secretive manner.

“It was hard to keep a secret, so Eric wanted to be totally secret to leave," he said (H/T Sportskeeda). "I was still negotiating on a handshake to stay in WWE, and for me to walk out there and not give any notice to Vince, looking back now, I wish I hadn’t done that.

"I did what I thought was best at the time for my career. Me, myself, and I. Hopefully if I’d have done it again, I wouldn’t have done that to Vince. I felt, even back then, felt really bad about that.”

Vince McMahon Probably Hasn't Forgiven Lex Luger

It appears McMahon never forgave Lex as he isn't in the WWE Hall of Fame. However, WWE is about to release a documentary about the former Torture Racking superstar as part of the WWE Icons series on the WWE Network.

Luger was the co-winner of the Royal Rumble alongside Shawn Michaels in 1994. Leading up to his departure, he wrestled for WWE, actually performing in an event the night before his WCW Nitro debut. He teamed up with HBK to beat Owen Hart and Yokozuna in a live event on the night. The following night, he appeared on Nitro.

While former wrestlers like the late Bruno Sammartino and The Ultimate Warrior are in the WWE Hall of Fame despite having issues with Vince, The Total Package remains out.
