Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has admitted that he would love it if Neymar returned to the Camp Nou in a Barca uniform.

The Brazilian attacker left Spain for French outfit Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, completing the switch for a world-record £198 million. But, since then, he has been linked with a move back, while Barcelona's rivals Real Madrid are considered to be a destination as well.

Messi doesn't believe a return for Neymar is possible but has said that he would welcome his former teammate back if it ever happened.

"It would be difficult," the Argentinian magician told Spanish publication Marca (h/t ESPN). "We would love it if he came back for what he means as a player and in the dressing room.

"We are friends, we enjoyed nice moments, as well some which were not so nice, but we spent a lot of time together. It is undoubtedly difficult to imagine him leaving Paris. PSG won't let Neymar go."

Messi has been linked with other teams himself, including PSG and English Premier League side Manchester City. But he insists he's satisfied at Barcelona and isn't looking to play for any other team.

"I don't need to change anything," he remarked. "I am playing for the best team in the world.

"My goals change from year to year. I don't need to change team or league in order to find new objectives.

"I am at home, at the best team in the world and I don't have any reason to want to change."

What This Means

Messi and Neymar were quite the duo during the Brazilian's time at the Camp Nou and he would make Barcelona near unstoppable if he were to return.

Yet one simply cannot imagine PSG allowing him to leave the Parc des Princes anytime soon, although nothing can be ruled out in football.
