Liverpool's big spending this summer means something's got to give and as many as seven players could be shown the exit.

Liverpool is looking to prove that it means business this season. With a little more than two weeks to go until the Premier League restarts, the Merseyside club has spent more than $230 million. Many soccers fans are labeling that a signal of intent and that Liverpool will challenge Manchester City for the title this season, others aren't so sure and recall being on this ride before.

That $230 million has been spent on five players which means some current members of the squad will have to leave to make room. In fact, according to the Liverpool Echo, as many as seven Liverpool players could be shown the door before the new season begins. When you look down the side's current squad list it's clear that there are a number of names who will probably get the chop.

First up, Simon Mignolet. The Belgian goalkeeper was once a first-team regular for Jurgen Klopp's side and has made 155 appearances for Liverpool during his five years at the club. However, Lorius Karius replaced him earlier this year. More notably, a large chunk of that $230 million spent was on new shot-stopper, Alisson. That means Karius will once again become number two and Mignolet will want to look elsewhere for game time.

Most of the names that will likely depart Anfield this season are ones that were filled with so much promise when they arrived. The likes of Danny Ings and Divock Origi. Together, the two strikers have only managed 65 appearances, scoring fifteen goals between them. With Liverpool's squad continually getting stronger, Ings and Origi have very much been left behind.

There are a few other names that you might not have even realized are still Liverpool players or ones you never realized played on Merseyside at all. The likes of Lazar Markovic, Sheyi Ojo, and Marko Grujic. Apparently, Klopp would prefer to loan most of them out rather than let them go altogether, but if the ultimate goal is the Premier League title then most of the players above no longer have a place at Anfield.
