Luke Harper revealed on Edge and Christian’s podcast that if it weren't for Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Cesaro, he probably wouldn't be in WWE.
Sometimes, getting anywhere is about having help, who you know and not what you can do. Fortunately for Luke Harper, one of the most talented big men in WWE, he both knew some people that helped him along the way, then proved once he was given a shot, he had the skill to stand out.
A former member of the Ring of Honor (ROH) roster and performer with Dragon Gate, Harper had been around the business for a while. One of the older guys, Harper called himself eternally pessimistic. He had bad knees, was bald, bigger and didn't think WWE would ever want or need him. In more than one instance, Harper figured he would call it quits and try to support his family in another way. Finally, he got a call for a tryout when his wife was 9 months pregnant.

During his tryout, he was paired with Ambrose, who he'd wrestled many matches with on the independent scene. They had a good match and from there, Harper got the call to sign with WWE. Still worried he wouldn't be someone WWE would use or stick in Vince's company, Harper said he had even more help after he'd gotten there.
"Him [Cesaro], Rollins and Ambrose kind of put it in their ear that I was worth another shot and kind of helped me get signed." Harper then told a story of how Cesaro gave him a phone and said "you gotta talk to this guy". On the other end of the line was Bray Wyatt.
Wyatt and Harper had never met but Wyatt had an idea with the Wyatt Family and wanted Harper to be in it. They tried it out in NXT, Dusty Rhodes loved it, they added Eric Rowan and were off and running.
Since his debut, Harper has had his ups and downs but today is one half of the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions and has the potential to be a huge star in WWE.
