Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair tore the house down at WWE Evolution in what was a potential match of the year candidate.

Despite it being the first of its kind, it's probably fair to say that the anticipation for the all-female PPV Evolution had died down somewhat. When the initial announcement was made by Stephanie McMahon, most people were naturally pretty excited. However, the sheer amount of shows being built to right now plus the Crown Jewel controversy took away from the event.

Thankfully, the women who performed on the show on Sunday night reminded us of exactly why we were so excited to begin with. On a seven-match card that ran for more than three hours and featured only female Superstars, we found it hard to find anything we didn't like. Judging by what we have seen on social media, most of the WWE Universe agrees with us.

Of all the good that happened at Evolution, there was one match that stood head and shoulders above everything else. the last woman standing match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Despite expectations being high for this one, The Lass Kicker and The Queen still managed to surpass them somehow. If you ask us, when 2018 comes to an end, no matter what happens between now and then, this has to be considered for match of the year.

The story told by the two women, the brutality of the match, the sense of occasion, we simply couldn't look away from this one. Not only do we believe that it has elevated Lynch even further, but it has also re-established Flair after she had lost a little of her luster recently. We didn't envy Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella who had to follow the match, but no one, male or female, could have topped what Flair and Lynch did.

As good as it was, we hope that's the last we see of this rivalry for a while. The brutal last woman standing match at Evolution is the perfect exclamation mark to their feud. Someone else needs to challenge Lynch's crown now, and Flair can occupy herself with someone else on SmackDown Live. If it were up to us, the two of them wouldn't meet again until at least WrestleMania 35.
