There's been a lot of talk about Becky Lynch's timing when it comes to her getting pregnant. Some are claiming WWE should be upset. Vince McMahon and WWE are reportedly very happy for her and Seth Rollins. Regardless of how you slice it, their business related to how popular Lynch was will certainly be affected.

Jim Cornette has received a lot of attention for his arrogant and distasteful remarks related to the news of Lynch's pregnancy. Never one to shy away from controversial statements, he arguably went way overboard when he said, “This is a multi-million dollar talent and she tells me she’s pregnant? What the f***?” He adds:

"This is like one of the boys breaking his leg on purpose while he’s on top... It’s not like I don’t ever want them to have children, but when both of you have top spots where you can make seven f***in’ figures a year and blah, blah, blah. Wait three years and have a f***in’ baby.”

He then goes on to say Vince should be hot at Lynch for interrupting the potential for both sides to make money and insults the way Lynch will look, her mood swings while she could be in WWE, and how she's basically ruined her career.

While it's a complete jerk thing to say, Cornette brings up an interesting point. How much money will WWE lose with this news? So too, what would WWE have been paying Lynch if she was to stay an active competitor and what will they pay her now, since she's removed herself from the equation by getting pregnant? There were reports she was seeking a new contract and wanted pay at a Steve-Austin level, perhaps making as much as $1 million per year.

WWE Will Keep Paying Her

While it likely won't be that kind of money Lynch was looking to get as an active competitor, according to Dave Meltzer, WWE will keep paying Lynch for the year she's gone. He says:

“As far as I know, and I don’t know different, she’s gonna get her downside and they are gonna sell merchandise for her for the year and you know they are going to market her for a year. She won’t be able to wrestle for a year and whether she comes back, I mean none of us know.”

The idea here is that Lynch can still make WWE money, even in her absence. In fact, WWE believes they can capitalize on the news of her pregnancy and is going full board on marketing the news of "The Man" becoming "The Mom". Whether it works remains to be seen.

Are they right, or did she essentially stop the "The Man" money machine in its tracks.
