The New York Yankees continue to be aggressive in their push for Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, as George King III from the New York Post is reporting that the Pinstripes have made a huge offer for the perennial All-Star.

Though he didn't mention which players, King (citing a source), reported that the Yankees have offered some of their top-10 prospects for Machadao. Though Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently reported the Yankees aren't interested in trading pitching prospect Justus Sheffield, there are plenty of other arms they could part with.

MLB.com lists outfielder Estevan Florial as the Yankees best prospect. With Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner and Giancarlo Stanton occupying the outfield, Florial could become expendable. Other pitching prospects such as Albert Abreu, Chance Adams, Luis Medina Domingo Acevedo and Freicer Perez (all Yankees top-1o prospects), could be available to Baltimore, too.

Other teams mentioned in the Machado sweepstakes include the Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers. All three teams, like the Yankees, are enriched in young talent and elite prospects, so all of them can piece together strong packages for his services.

Though the Yankees could use another slugger like Machado, the team's biggest weak link is their rotation. Jordan Montgomery is out for the season with Tommy John Surgery, while 2017 trade deadline acquisition Sonny Gray has endured a miserable campaign. The Yankees simply need more help in the arms, so they may decide not to overpay for Machado if other teams pitch stronger offers.

Machado is set to hit free agency this winter, and the Yankees certainly have the financial resources to offer him a massive contract. It's a foregone conclusion that Machado doesn't re-sign with the Orioles this offseason, which is why they're looking to trade him before the deadline.

The good news for Orioles fans is they promise to receive a handful of elite prospects that could emerge as franchise cornerstones in the coming years. And the team that lands Machado will boost their championship dreams significantly.
