The Vegas Golden Knights have signed goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to a three-year contract extension worth $21 million, according to TSN's Frank Seravalli.

The 33-year-old Fleury was among the NHL's most dominant forces last season, leading the expansion Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final in their first year of existence. Though they fell to the Washington Capitals in five games, the Golden Knights became one of the most beloved and incredible underdog stories in history.

Fleury was the very first pick by Vegas in last year's expansion draft; opting not to ask the Pittsburgh Penguins to trade him elsewhere. Fleury - a three-time Stanley Cup champion (all won with the Pens), went 29-13-4 with a 2.24 goals against average, .927 save percentage while registering four shutouts.

But Fleury was even more dominant in the playoffs, going 13-7 with a 2.24 goals against average and .927 save percentage. He stole a handful of big games during the first three rounds of the postseason, making some of the best saves of his career. But the Golden Knights well just short in taking down Alexander Ovechkin and the Caps on the grandest of stages.

Fleury had one year left on his contract, but the extension ensures that the Golden Knights have a no. 1 netminder in the crease for several more years. General manager George McPhee was able to land veteran center Paul Stastny in free agency and re-signed enforcer Ryan Reaves two a two-year deal. The Fleury extension caps off what's been a very busy offseason for McPhee.

The Golden Knight did lose key contributors James Neal and David Perron in free agency, but the bulk of the 2017-18 core will be back together next season. Now that they have Fleury under contract for four more years, Vegas has no reason to worry about the crease. They'll be just fine.
