After taking time off to become a mother, Maria Kanellis revealed on Instagram that she has suffered a broken wrist while training for her in-ring return and will be in a cast for six weeks. Her comeback to wrestling will have to wait a bit.
After Maria's return and Mike Bennett's debut in WWE, both members of the WWE roster took a little time off in April to welcome their daughter, Fredrica Moon, to the world. Knowing becoming a mom wasn't going to mean the end of Maria's time in a WWE ring, she began training for a comeback. Unfortunately, that comeback will have to be delayed due to an injury.
After posting a pic of her x-rays that showed she broke her wrist, Maria made sure to mention she still believes she'll be part of the all-women's pay-per-view taking place in October entitled Evolution.
The historic show set to take place on October 28, 2018, is going to be an all-hands-on-deck type show for WWE. The company is advertising more than 50 female talents from WWE's past and present. Names like Trish Stratus, Lita, Beth Phoenix are set to return with stars like Ronda Rousey, Bayley, Charlotte, Alexa Bliss and all of today's WWE female roster making up matches that will hope to show WWE can offer a female only event with huge success.
While Maria may not have been considered a talent that would be front and center on the show itself, including her feels important considering how instrumental she was in the changeover from Divas to Women's wrestling. Even if she doesn't have a match, — at best, she might be hidden inside a battle royal — there's every reason to expect she'll be a part of the event.
