Markelle Fultz is having a torrid time in Philadelphia this season.

The guard, last year's No.1 overall pick, has been struggling on several fronts and it has been reported that the 76ers have grown tired of his many issues. They are now said to be considering a trade.

According to ESPN's Andre Snelling, the Houston Rockets have emerged as a great fit for the player as they meet several of the requirements.

The Rockets, though, aren't without their problems. The Western Conference side has been going through their own struggles this season and they are still reeling from a few bad summer decisions - mainly their Carmelo Anthony acquisition and their letting go of Trevor Ariza for a second time.

Snelling reckons that, while the Rockets are one of the teams aiming to compete for a championship this season, Fultz could be afforded the opportunity to develop behind Chris Paul and James Harden.

"The Rockets don’t fit that exact mold due to their current championship aspirations, but they are also an older team that will need young legs. They could afford to let Fultz develop on the bench behind Chris Paul and James Harden, then give him more responsibility over time as Paul slows down with age."

The Sixers were likely of the view that they were over the player's shoulder issues. However, those have resurfaced, with Fultz even pulling himself from playing as he intends to see a specialist before heading back to the court.

Additionally, it has been reported that he is now suffering from a wrist injury.

What This Means

Fultz and the Sixers simply aren't a good fit at the moment. They have been very patient with him so far, but a team looking to become a title contender would be much better off not having such worries on their account.

The player himself is reported to be open to a trade as he's keen on making a fresh start elsewhere. And, while Houston has shown how impatient they can be this season, for a player like Fultz who would come in with very little expectation, a union with the Rockets could prove beneficial.
