Oakland Raiders running back, Marshawn Lynch suffered a groin injury in a game against the Seattle Seahawks. Now, it appears as that Lynch will miss at least a month.
Lynch received an MRI that revealed the groin strain. According to ESPN, the Raiders have discussed whether or not to place him on the injured reserve. But, no official decision has been made.

Lynch initially described the injury as nothing when he sustained it this past Sunday. And with the Raiders currently on their bye week, the team's hope was that Lynch would be fine after some rest. But, after the pain continued, the team decided to get it looked at.
Now, the worry is Lynch may miss the rest of the season. If he were to miss exactly a month, that would secure him a return date of late November or early December. But if he needs additional time to heal, then that could risk his season.

Lynch is also a free agent at the end of the season. So, having a season-ending injury may be the end for the five-time Pro Bowler. Lynch has already retired once in his career so it wouldn't be out of the question for him to do it again.
This is Lynch's eleventh season in the NFL and he's also at the age of 32 years old. He has had multiple serious back injuries during his career. So, this groin injury easily could be the last straw for Lynch.
Lynch had a decent second season with the Raiders. He's averaging 62.7 rushing yards per game and also has three rushing touchdowns.
Lynch hasn't been the same player ever since his 2014 season with the Seahawks. Now, in writing that, Lynch did have back surgery in 2015 and just hasn't been the same since.
If this is the last we see of Lynch on the field, here's what he's done in his career. He's been elected the Pro Bowl five times. He helped bring the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014. Not to mention he would be a two-time Super Bowl champion if the Seahawks handed him the ball at the goal-line back at Super Bowl 49.
He is easily one of the greatest running backs in this generation, and it will be a sad day if a groin injury is the cause for the end of his career.
