WWE originally planned to have Rey Mysterio compete in a mask vs. hair match against Andrade at WrestleMania.

This year's WrestleMania card is starting to take shape and if the rumors are true, it might feature as many as 17 matches. If so, that would make it the biggest WWE PPV of all time. Since the WWE Network was introduced, Vince McMahon has tried his utmost to give as many Superstars as possible their WrestleMania moment. Clearly, that is on his mind more than ever before this time around.

As it stands, nine of those 17 potential matches have been confirmed on WWE.com. One of the most recent to be officially added to the card is Samoa Joe versus Rey Mysterio for the United States Title. Judging by the segment on this week's SmackDown Live, Mysterio's son Dominic will be at ringside for the match.

With Mysterio's son involved, it seems likely that the luchador will be humiliated by Joe in some way. That might happen at 'Mania or it could happen before then. However, if WWE had stuck with its original plan for the veteran, it could have been even worse. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mysterio's original WrestleMania plan was a mask vs. hair match against his newest nemesis, Andrade.

While there is no firm reason as to why this match will no longer be happening, some have speculated that WWE realized it didn't want Mysterio to lose his mask or Andrade to lose his hair. We're sure that they could have come up with some imaginative finish if need be, but personally, we like the idea of Joe versus Mysterio just as much anyway. As good as Mysterio and Andrade's recent matches have been, we have seen a few of them already in a short space of time.

As well as seeing a lot of history go down at WrestleMania, we might well witness an awful lot of title changes. Of the nine matches already officially announced, four of them have gold on the line. By our calculations, there could be as many as ten championships on the line on April 7. Suffice to say that a fair few of those titles will have different holders come the end of the very long night.
