After one of the worst weeks for the Packers’ kicker Mason Crosby, on Monday he got a chance to redeem himself, and boy, he did not miss it, kicking the game-winner.

Last week, the 34-year-old veteran missed four field goals—41-, 42-, 38- and 56-yard attempts—and one 33-yard extra point, which would have given the Packers an important victory over its divisional rivals the Detroit Lions. After the game, when Crosby was surrounded by cameras in the visitor’s locker room, he said that he doesn't "get this much attention unless it's really bad or extremely good.” On Monday night, he found himself surrounded by many cameras again, but this time it was due to the latter.

Crosby made every kick he took—four field goals and all three of his PATs—during the incredible comeback victory of the Cheeseheads over the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field, including a 27-yard shot with three seconds left on the clock and a tied game, which gave its third win of the season to the Green Bay Packers.

The placekicker said that, after last week, he had to prepare himself mentally before going back to the field, and that's what helped him to have such an outstanding performance.

“Just so thankful for the Packers organization and my teammates just sticking with me knowing I’ve bounced back a lot in my career,” said Crosby after Monday’s game, “I had no days like last week (in Detroit), but this is a special one. This is one of my better days. And to be able to go out there and perform the way I did after last week (was great). Did a lot of soul-searching this week and made sure I really locked in on my preparation. And it paid off.”

However, Crosby’s game-winner would not have been possible without the help of one of the greatest clutch quarterbacks in the National Football League. With 67-seconds left and no timeouts, Aaron Rodgers did what he has done more times than we can remember. The two-time MVP put the ball at San Francisco’s nine-yard line with three seconds left after a 10-play, 81-yard drive, for Crosby to kill the game.

"This is unreal. I appreciate Aaron getting me a little close there for the chip shot, but what a great win."
