While the feud between “Woken” Matt Hardy and “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt hasn’t been terribly memorable to date, WWE appeared to set the stage for a final clash between the two sides at WrestleMania 34. An “Ultimate Deletion” Match on the Hardy Compound was a potentially unique way to bring some life to a battle that has been unique to say the least. It appears those plans have changed.

A report had surfaced that the match will no longer take place at WrestleMania 34 but has already been filmed and will be aired on an upcoming episode of Raw.

It is unclear if WWE felt the feud hadn’t gained enough steam to place it on the biggest pay-per-view of the year or if the plan here is to gain extra interest in these two, hook the WWE Universe on their battle and create a scenario for a rematch at The Show of Shows. One thing we have learned is that newly hired Jeremy Borash (formerly of Impact Wrestling) had been left to oversee the production of the match and bring new life back into their storyline.

Borash was very hands-on when it came to the success of the “Broken” Hardy character in TNA. He’s knows Hardy’s vision and may be less inclined to turn the match into a literal laughing stock.

Fans who have been into the feud may disappointed to learn that the match may not happen at WrestleMania 34 but they shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the match was never meant to be performed live in front of a WWE audience. These segments were infamous for being unlike any other segments in wrestling and regardless of when and where it airs, that is still likely to be the case.

The hope here is that WWE hits a home run and brings to life the “Woken” character in a way they’ve not been able to thus far.
