Even though Matt Hardy hinted that he was done with in-ring competition, he has now admitted that he expects to return to action relatively soon.
A pro wrestler never truly knows when their career is going to come to an end. Even though the action is staged and the outcomes are pre-determined, what the men and women of the business do is extremely risky. One false move and their career could end there and then. In fact, one false move and they could suffer a fate worse than the end of their career.
Sometimes it doesn't take just one moment to suddenly end a wrestler's career. Take Matt Hardy, for example. The veteran has not competed in WWE since August of this year and hinted that he may never be able to wrestle again. Two and a half decades in the ring have caused his lower back to start fusing with his pelvis. Not good.
However, there have been further rumors, and comments from Hardy himself, that his in-ring career is not in fact over. Well, we need wonder and speculate on that topic no more. While talking to Wrestling Inc this week, Hardy revealed that he will be returning to the ring. He couldn't specify when exactly but said he expects to be wrestling once again "sooner than later."
It would seem that the treatment and rehabilitation Hardy has undergone since telling fans he was "going home" has had a better effect than anyone could have imagined. Now the only questions that remain are when will he return and in what capacity? Bray Wyatt has also been absent since Hardy departed, simply because they were a tag team and WWE has had nothing for The Eater Of Worlds since.
Wyatt has been teasing something on social media for a while. His messages have been cryptic and largely ignored by WWE. That changed recently. The former WWE Champion deleted all of his tweets and replaced them with just one new one. WWE acknowledged the action and suggested that Wyatt may be on the verge of a Raw return. Perhaps The Woken One will join him.
