WWE superstar Matt Riddle has praised his wife for being as supportive and as forgiving as she's been following revelations of infidelity.
The performer, who only recently got promoted to the main roster from NXT, was accused of sexual abuse amid the #SpeakingOut Movement and nearly had his full SmackDown debut written off as a result.
He took to Twitter this week to break the silence with a denial. However, he fessed up to having an affair with his accuser, Candy Cartwright, who he says simply tried to destroy his career after he broke it off with her.
Matt says he had to block Candy on multiple fronts, as well as change his number as he felt he was being stalked. He revealed having told his wife about the affair a while back.
Having featured on the Bubba the Love Sponge show alongside his wife Lisa, Riddle lauded her for being strong and forgiving. Bubba also praised Lisa for her handling of the situation.
“I appreciate it so much. It means a lot. It’s been a whirlwind,” she said in response, via Pro Wrestling Sheet.
“We’ve been through a lot. We’ve been through a lot together. I’m sure there’s gonna be more we’re gonna be through.
“She’s one of the strongest women I know, because she has the ability to forgive and understand," Matt said. "And I have been honest with her,” Riddle said to Bubba. “Some people are like, ‘oh, I’m proud of you.’ And I’m like, ‘I did the wrong thing and then I did the right thing.’ And then I was lucky enough to be with someone that’s strong enough.”

The SmackDown performer is pretty fortunate to have an understanding wife but no one's ever going to take finding out they were cheated on in stride and it must have been a difficult time for the couple.
As for the Candy saga, who knows what will come out of that? It's still a his word against her's situation.
