Maurizio Sarri gave his first press conference as Chelsea boss this week and we learned a lot about his plans for the Premier League side.

There were times during the last month where it seemed as if Maurizio Sarri had made a big mistake leaving his role as manager of Napoli. That's because his former club and his new club, Chelsea, couldn't come to terms on a compensation package for the Italian. What's worse is that Carlo Ancelotti had already been brought in to take his place yet Antonio Conte was still in charge at Stamford Bridge.

That has thankfully all been resolved in the past week though, and not only is Sarri well and truly in charge at Chelsea but he has already been bringing in fresh faces and taking care of business. In fact, on Wednesday of this week, the former Napoli boss gave his first press conference as the Blues' manager and here is what we learned about the Premier League's newest face courtesy of Sky Sports.

First of all, the Italian made it very clear that he doesn't want a label like his predecessors have had. He doesn't want to be known as "The Special One" or "The Happy One" and told those in attendance to simply refer to him as Maurizio. Sarri also highlighted that he wants his players to have fun, something he instilled in his squad at Napoli and it certainly worked for the Serie A side.

Sarri spoke through a translator for the entirety of the press conference, however, he did say that he will start to conduct them in English in a few weeks time. While his English is not yet strong enough for the general public, hopefully it's good enough for one-to-ones with his new players. Sarri was asked what his plans are for some of the big players who want to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. He replied that he will be talking to them individually to discover their desires, but would not name names.

Now we know a little more about Sarri it's time for him to demonstrate what he can do on the pitch. Pre-season is well and truly underway and the new Premier League season is only a little more than three weeks away. With the transfer window closing earlier than normal this season, the new Chelsea boss will have less time to convince the likes of Willian and Eden Hazard to remain in London for another year.
