According to Yahoo! Japan, Meiko Satomura has signed to WWE as a wrestler and a coach. She will reportedly be added to the NXT UK roster. She is currently in London training at the UK Performance Center.

Satomura, who has been wrestling since she was 15-years-old, has trained with Chigusa Nagayo, known as "the most popular woman wrestler of all-time." Nagayo is a former member of the tag team The Crush Gals with long-time partner Lioness Asuka and founder of GAEA Women's Professional Wrestling. In 2005, Satomura defeated Nagayo in the main event of GAEA's Eternal Last Gong Show, the promotion's farewell card.

Satomura, 41, made her professional wrestling debut for all female promotion Gaea Japan on April 15, 1995, defeating Sonoko Kato. On November 2, 1996, Satomura and Sonoko Kato defeated Sugar Sato and Chikayo Nagashima to become the inaugural AAAW Tag Team Champions.

The wrestler won the AAAW Tag Team Championship on two other occasions, teaming up with Ayako Hamada, and Chikayo Nagashima. She also won the AAAW Singles Championship twice, with her second reign ending when she was defeated Aja Kong on April 3, 2005. In 1996, she began performing for World Championship Wrestling (WCW). After Gaea Japan closed in 2006, Satomura formed Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling with Jinsei Shinzaki.

On July 27, 2018, WWE announced that the wrestler would compete in the second Mae Young Classic tournament. She defeated Killer Kelly, Mercedes Martinez, and Lacey Lane before being defeated in the semifinals by Toni Storm. In 2019, Satomura was a guest coach at the Performance Center in Orlando and trained with SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks in Japan at the Sendai Girls’ dojo.

In 2018, when asked about competing at WWE Evolution, Satomura said, "The scale and level are completely different from Japan. When watching I knew that I wanted to stand at that center stage, and I felt keenly that I could not stay in Japan anymore. Watching the Smackdown Women’s Championship match made my whole body tremble, it was an amazing match."
