A lot of people will tell you that Michael Jordan was not the nicest guy around during his playing days. And Allen Iverson has recently revealed that it didn't take him long to feel the heat after he was drafted into the NBA.

Jordan is the proud creator of countless highlights, many of which will live long in everyone's memory. There are hardly any of other players getting one over him. However, Iverson can boast having one of the most iconic moments of his career against the GOAT - in his rookie year at that.

There's a deep, mutual respect between the pair these days, with both of them now Hall of Famers and absolute legends of the game. But Iverson's relationship with MJ got off to a very rocky start.

Speaking in an extensive interview with Complex, the former superstar point guard recalled his first-ever meeting with Jordan, who was his idol growing up. Unfortunately, it didn't go so well due to the erstwhile Chicago Bulls shooting guard referring to him as a "little b****."

“The first time I ever talked to him was that year, playing in the rookie game,” Iverson said.

“I’ll never forget it, because he said, ‘What’s up, you little b****?’ I’ll never forget it. I looked at him like … ‘Alright, man.’”

A little over a month later, Iverson was able to hit back at His Airness, making the ball do the talking as he crossed him up to knock down a jumper, a moment that would set him on a path to greatness.

“I got a lot of flak from my teammates. They were teasing me, ‘you’re not going to play your game tonight, because you playing against your guy, you not going to come with it’,” he said.

“I was being this tough guy with them but then I walked out there and saw him and …”

“I was a fan - that’s what I’ve always been. I’m thinking he glowing or whatever and I’m looking down and I’m like, ‘Damn, he’s got on the Jordans’.

“That was my guy, he was my hero but once they threw that ball in the air, you going to remember 23 tonight like you always have but when you leave here, you going to remember No. 3 too.

“I always knew when I got to the elite I was going to try my move on the best so he was just a victim that night."

Of course, Jordan never forgave him.

“I remember one time I was telling him I went to a Charlotte game and I was telling him how much he meant to me and how much I rocked with him," Iverson recalled. "And he said, ‘You wouldn’t have rocked with me like that because you wouldn’t have crossed me like that’.”
