Had Mick Foley taken the chokeslam through the cell properly back in 1998 then we would likely remember that infamous match for a very different reason.

Unless this is your first day of being a professional wrestling fan, and if it is then welcome, then you will have seen the Hell In A Cell match from King Of The Ring 1998 between The Undertaker and Mankind. It is still one of the most talked about matches of all time and houses some of the most iconic moments in the history of the business.

The moment that springs to mind when thinking about that match is Undertaker throwing Mick Foley from the top of the cell and through the announce table below. As hard as it is to believe, however, that wasn't the moment that did the most damage. The act that hurt Foley most was when he was chokeslammed through the roof of the cell as that wasn't supposed to happen, at least not at that moment.

Following Hell In A Cell on Sunday night, WWE aired a special show that Foley performed to a live audience to mark the 20th anniversary of that match, 20 Years Of Hell. It gave an insight into the infamous matchup that all fans know so well unlike we have ever been given before. In fact, some of the stuff Foley revealed was downright scary, including what would have happened if he had taken the chokeslam through the cage properly.

Foley explained that he didn't have the strength to jump very high when Taker lifted him for the chokeslam. That made for a poor looking move but it may have saved his life. If Foley had been able to jump higher for the move then he would have over-rotated on the way down. That would have resulted in him probably landing on his neck or maybe even his head.

Despite the injuries Foley suffered that night inside and on top of Hell In A Cell, things could have been so much worse. If anything it's a minor miracle that the Hardcore Legend wasn't hurt more that night, and he is extremely lucky that he survived let alone ever wrestled again. The WWE Hall Of Famer did a lot of crazy things during his career, but as he admitted during his show on the WWE Network, it was that one which put him on the map.
