No doubt, MJF will become one of the most important wrestlers in the industry over the next decade. His performance at AEW's All Out on Saturday only hammers home that statement.

In a losing effort, MJF still shined in the main event against Jon Moxley, to the point that even Moxley gave him credit in his post-match media scrum. Calling MJF one of the future stars of the industry, Mox said the flamboyant and brash young star of AEW will "lead this company long after I'm gone" and that the only reason he may have lost Saturday was because he tried to cut corners in their match.

But, part of the reason MJF is so popular is because he gets it. Most have said he's got an understanding of the business and knows his character extremely well. It could for this reason, he'll become a household name and electing not to sign with WWE was the right idea.

MJF was interviewed by Inside The Ropes and detailed by he chose AEW over WWE. He explained that everyone was trying to acquire his services before he signed in AEW. "When people found out my MLW contract was coming up, I was getting contacted by everybody,"  he noted. But, he added his decision wasn't a difficult one.

He explained:

Deep down, I wanted to be part of something new and something fresh and something where I’d be able to control everything going on with me, because I knew if I went to the other place, and this isn’t me shi--ing on the other place, it’s just a fact, they would try to change me, and there is nothing to change."

MJF Made The Right Call

Clearly, his decision to join AEW was the right one. He's quickly rising up the ranks in that company and Tony Khan seems to have long-term goals for his character. AEW is becoming well-known for offering a ton of creative license to stars to be themselves and that fits perfectly into what MJF wants to do.

In WWE, they are very well known for building characters, but like to maintain control over almost every aspect of that character. MJF's antics might have been toned down, his promos would have probably been over-scripted and it all could have handcuffed him in a way that limited his long-term rise to stardom.
