With only five days left to go until Elimination Chamber, WWE might be forced to change one of the competitors in Sunday's WWE Title match.

The first of two PPVs on the road to WrestleMania takes place this Sunday, Elimination Chamber. In keeping with modern day tradition, there will be two matches inside the unforgiving steel structure. One to crown the first ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, and the other where Daniel Bryan's WWE Title will be up for grabs.

In any match involving more than two opponents, the odds are stacked against the champion. Bryan will have no friends or allies inside that chamber this weekend. Well, unless Rowan manages to break his way in. The WWE Champion will be joined by Randy Orton, Mustafa Ali, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, and AJ Styles.

RUMOR: NO TITLES WILL CHANGE HANDS AT ELIMINATION CHAMBER

However, one of those five men might well have to bow out according to reports from Fightful and PWInsider. On Monday, those reports suggested that Ali would be removed from the match due to injury. Then during Raw, not only was Ali still being advertised as a participant but also in a gauntlet match that will take place on SmackDown Live tonight. According to Wrestling Inc, Ali was not cleared to compete at a live event on Monday and will be re-evaluated tonight.

What that all effectively means is exactly what it sounds like, and that right now everything is up in the air. The injury in question is reportedly a concussion. WWE obviously takes concussions very seriously so won't clear Ali if he is not 100% okay. The expected plan if Ali can't go is that Orton will be blamed for his injuries and a last-minute replacement will be found.

Since tonight's SmackDown Live is the last stop before Elimination Chamber, a decision will likely have to be reached tonight. It will be a tough blow to Ali if he does have to sit out. The former 205 Live star has clearly caught the eye of the decision makers backstage in WWE and has been doing a tremendous job. If he can't compete on Sunday, hopefully it won't derail his momentum.
