The New Day cosplaying as The Brood made SmackDown Live's Trick or Street Fight the first one we have ever enjoyed.

Beware WWE fans tuning into Raw and SmackDown Live around any sort of holiday. Whether it's Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year or otherwise, WWE will find a way to include a terrible gimmick match that makes us question why we watch wrestling at all. Since SmackDown Live fell on October 30, you could rest assured that there would be some Halloween shenanigans.

When SmackDown Live came back from a break and pumpkins were lining the ring, we knew that it was once again that time of year. Upon the reveal that a Trick or Street Fight was about to take place, Byron Saxton got more excited than we have ever heard him before. If you're like us, that only made you want to change the channel even more.

Thankfully, because The New Day was involved, the match was not as hard to watch as we thought it would be. The lights went out and an unfamiliar entrance music started to play. It was unfamiliar because we haven't heard it on a regular basis in WWE for almost 20 years. After a few seconds, older wrestling fans realized it was The Brood's theme. Pan down to the entrance way and there was New Day, cosplaying as the trio of faux vampires.

Saxton ran through who was Edge, Christian, and Gangrel. The latter was Big E, and he was the one New Day selected to compete in the match. He went up against The Bar's Cesaro. Weirdly, only Sheamus decided to show up in costume on the heel side of things. The Brood hat-tips didn't stop at costumes alone. Big E delivered mouthfuls of "mysterious red liquid" to both Cesaro and Big Show before picking up the win.

There is always talk of when WWE is going to break up New Day and what the individuals will do as singles stars. However, Xavier Woods has said that the three of them will never split up. Their antics on SmackDown Live this week are further proof as to why WWE needs to keep them together. There are no other Superstars currently on WWE's roster that could have made a Trick or Street Fight as entertaining as they did.
