On Monday night Raw, the tag team championships were up for grabs during the final hour of the show. New champions were crowned in The Revival.

In what might be viewed as WWE reaching out The Revival after the team asked for their release less than a month ago, the team of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder had not been given the titles despite being a well-respected team and a throwback to the glory days of tag team wrestling, a la the Brain Busters, The Freebirds and other technical greats.

For some reason, WWE wasn't throwing them a bone.

Refusing the let the team leave WWE, it certainly appears WWE has tried to mend fences and make things right as the team defeated Chad Gable and Glorious Bobby Roode in a well-contested match for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

As the match came to a close, a number of close calls and chants from the crowd of "This is awesome." led to The Revival hitting Gable with the Shatter Machine out of nowhere for the pin and the win. The Revival has finally won the titles is what a number of WWE fans must be thinking.

Social media flooded WWE's social media posts with comments like "About damn time" and "well deserved". Others suggested this was exactly what the tag division needed.

What This Means

It's hard to know if this is a long-term thing or just WWE's way of making amends with a team that was clearly unhappy in their place on the WWE roster. If the company is realizing that teams like The Revival have their place in professional wrestling and fans really do like their style, it could be more of a permanent thing.

Certainly, Roode and Gable will have something to say about it.
