Nia Jax is quickly becoming a household name when it comes to female Superstars of the WWE. Unless something crazy happens, in just a few weeks she seems poised to take on Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania for the Raw Women’s title. In an interview with ESPN, Jax revealed, however, that the storyline with the current women’s champ that is propelling her towards the grand stage is mirroring her real life more closely than anyone could imagine.

"I have a positive outlook, but when you're out in the public eye, you wonder how people see you," Jax said. "It's something I have dealt with my entire life. It's something I still deal with today. It's a constant battle."

Jax’s interactions with Bliss took a negative turn over the past few weeks, as she found out that the champion was just using her to wear out potential WrestleMania opponent, Asuka. On the March 12th episode of Raw Jax faced a local wrestler, and after the match backstage footage of Bliss and Mickie James making fun of her was aired on the Titan Tron for everybody to see.

Alexa Bliss made clear what she thought of Jax, saying that she was “always bigger than the other kids”. These comments prompted Nia to then turn her attention to getting back at Bliss. Before their possible matchup next month, Nia revealed that this storyline is very similar to one that played out during her time as a model.

Before the WWE, Nia Jax had spent years pursuing her dream of becoming a runway model. After high school, she took the next step of moving to New York City to gain exposure to casting agents. Those agents quickly tore her confidence down by pointing out all of her supposed flaws. After some words of encouragement from her mom, she stuck it out and proved the critics wrong. In doing so, she finally achieved her dream. A few years later, she was signed by the WWE.

The fact that she was able to overcome these obstacles and realize her goals has helped Jax be seen as a role model to girls everywhere. To see her having to go through it again in this storyline is unfortunate since she has already paid her dues to get where she is. However, at the end of it all, she may very well come out as a champion, all because her confidence wouldn’t waver.
