During the season finale of Total Bellas, Nikki Bella revealed that she has no intention to ever wrestle again and has retired from in-ring competition.
You don't need us to tell you that women's wrestling in WWE has changed drastically over the last few years. The female side of the business is now taken much more seriously and we might well be less than two weeks away from a women's match headlining WrestleMania for the first time ever. A lot of wrestlers have paved the way for how WWE is today, and there is no end to the arguments over who has contributed the most.
Whether you like it or not, The Bella Twins have contributed a lot to women's wrestling in WWE. They are two of only a handful of wrestlers that have managed to remain on the roster amid all the changes, alongside the likes of Alicia Fox and Natalya. Yes, quite a few women have returned to deservedly reap the rewards for helping aid the women's revolution, but The Bella Twins were there throughout the transition.
If you're fans of everything The Bellas have done in WWE, we have some bad news. During the season finale of Total Bellas this past weekend, Nikki revealed that she is done wrestling. This comes two weeks after the episode during which Brie announced she had retired from in-ring competition.
Just seven days after Brie's announcement, the pair hinted that the two of them would consider wrestling again for a chance to become WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. The new titles were not introduced until after this latest season of Total Bellas was filmed, after all. So there is hope for all you loyal members of The Bella Army but for now, the former Divas' Champions are both done with wrestling.
As those of you who follow the exploits of Nikki and Brie closely will already know, this doesn't mean we are about to endure Bella-less lives. We imagine that Total Bellas will continue and that the sisters will also still star on Total Divas. Plus, starting this Wednesday, Nikki and Brie are stepping into the podcast world.
