Not only is Nikki Cross not being pegged with a sad gimmick that she doesn't want, the new character the WWE Universe was introduced to on Monday night was her idea. In fact, she brought in help to get her idea off the ground and pitched to WWE.

Cross pointed out after Monday's show that she was super excited to bring this idea to life. And, that's not just lip service coming from a WWE Superstar trying to make the most out of the hand she's been dealt. The person who helped her come up with the idea took to social media as well and revealed some of the concept art Cross might have used.

As you can see from the photo below, it's extremely close to what Cross wore to the ring.

Cross did retweet the cartoon image, so we'll assume that this is confirmation the person claiming to have come up the original artwork is telling the truth. And, if such is the case, it means Cross has been sitting on this idea for months, working with creative backstage to go from where she was to where she appeared on Monday evening.

Clearly, she's got confidence that this could be something that helps her move up the Raw Women's Division and she's under the impression she can pull off the gimmick. She's probably right. There was a lot of criticism online that this wasn't the greatest idea, but many who acknowledged, if anyone can pull it off, it's Cross.

Will WWE Make Changes?

The one thing Cross did admit was that she doesn't have any special powers to go along with the new look. This is simply an image she believes will help her find the strength and spirit she needs to take the next step.

It will be curious to see if she pitched that part of it as well and if WWE has any changes they'd like to make if the character gains a little momentum. If they ok'd her idea, maybe their good to run with her thoughts about the character too.

Now, the only question we have left is... who came up with the idea to call Piper Niven Doudrop?
