NXT And WWE To Make Big Change To Takeover Events In 2020

With the move to USA Network, fans can expect some changes in NXT. One of the big ones might be that NXT and WWE will add a sixth Takeover event to the yearly pay-per-view calendar.

This addition would be big for NXT in term of both revenue and exposure for the NXT talent who are typically working Takeover events on the Saturdays prior to key WWE PPV's. Because of the official move to the USA Network in September, there have been a number of reports wages for the roster will go up, the show will air live, expand to two hours and it was only a matter of time before discussions about how pay-per-views were presented took place. According to a new report from the popular WWE rumor reporter on Twitter, @Wrestlevotes, there is said to be a real possibility that we will see a sixth NXT Takeover special in 2020. Whether or not this happens may depend on the success of the new show and how the numbers look on the USA Network. Most people assume they will be strong enough to warrant more PPV's. There's no word yet on when the sixth Takeover event would be held, and with the way the current calendar is laid out, there's not a real obvious slot to slide one in. What This Means

In 2019, Takeover events took place prior to the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 35, SummerSlam and fans will see one before Survivor Series in November. One might wonder if maybe WWE will try to put one in around the end of September or October since this is the biggest gap in the pay-per-view schedule at this time. There's also no word on if any of the NXT shows will take place from locations like Saudi Arabia or that will strictly be a Raw and SmackDown thing.
