A number of NXT trainees are reportedly unhappy with WWE's handling of the coronavirus pandemic and don't think their safety is that big of a concern to the company.

The ignorance over COVID-19 made it quite difficult to deal with and almost everyone could be forgiven for not handling it properly as the virus is "novel." It was expected that the world would have a grip on things by now. Sadly, that hasn't been the case and the respiratory disease continues to ravage on a global scale.

As much as COVID-19 has been hard to deal with, there's plenty that can be done to make the spread more difficult and, per Fightful Select (H/T Wrestletalk.com), persons from the NXT roster don't feel like WWE's doing all they can, while they're also skeptical over some of their colleagues' seriousness.

A report from the aforementioned publication reads:

“NXT trainees were set to return to the renovated WWE Performance Center on Thursday, October 8, but many weren’t comfortable with returning for obvious reasons. Months prior, NXT talent were told there would be no heat on them if they didn’t feel safe coming in and training, but that they might need to “explain it to Vince.” We’ve not heard any instances of that actually happening.

“However, NXT trainees in contact with Fightful have expressed their discomfort with training, with multiple citing the number of “COVID truthers” on the NXT roster that just don’t take the situation seriously.”

It's Been A Rough Ride

WWE has had numerous coronavirus-related issues since the virus reached U.S soil. There was a recent breakout in NXT that forced the promotion to make a number of booking changes.

The company was also made to cut a large number of staffers, including several wrestlers. Rusev, Heath Slater, and Zack Ryder were among stars cut; Kurt Angle was also unable to avoid the ax once it swung from the other end.

The likes of Renee Young, Kayla Braxton, and Adam Pearce all made their positive tests public and it's thought that WWE kept several others under wraps as Renee has since claimed WWE was not happy with her going public with her test results.
