If WWE is having a big pay per view weekend, then that means there is also going to be an NXT TakeOver. Thanks to Money In The Bank now officially becoming one of the biggest shows of the year, we were treated to a TakeOver on Saturday night. The booking and storytelling of NXT not only means that it can get by with just five matches on an almost three-hour card, but the booking team and Superstars make sure every one of those matches is can't miss. You can rest assured that was once again the case at NXT TakeOver: Chicago.

5. Undisputed ERA Are Pushed To Their Limit

Undisputed ERA is truly becoming the heel faction of 2018 in WWE. Just like heel stables of old, they always find a way to win. At NXT TakeOver: New Orleans they did that by recruiting Roderick Strong to their ranks and made him turn on Pete Dunne in the process. Since then the new look ERA has been feuding with The Bruiserweight, and he has managed to pick up a couple of friends. Those friends, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, got a shot at Undisputed ERA's Tag Team Titles on Saturday night, and what an opening match it was. All four men gave it absolutely everything they had, but as always, the ERA found a way to win. Strong and Kyle O'Reilly are still NXT Tag Team Champions.

4. Ricochet Is The One And Only

Sometimes in wrestling, there doesn't have to be a title on the line or a deep running hatred between two competitors. Ricochet and Velveteen Dream demonstrated that in Chicago on Saturday night. Just two men wanting to prove that they are better than their opponent. Many fans were expecting this to be the match of the night, and they were not disappointed. Some of the moves we saw from both men were absolutely incredible. Dream's whole premise heading into this match was that he could do anything that Ricochet can do. Well, he proved that for the most part, he can. The charismatic Superstar couldn't finish off NXT's One and Only though. A 630 from Ricochet was the move that finally brought an end to the match.

3. Aggression Wins Out Over Crazy

Since Shayna Baszler defeated Ember Moon for the NXT Women's Championship she has been ruling over the division using one thing, fear. It has been working on Dakota Kai, but in recent weeks she appeared to have found her kryptonite, Nikki Cross. Cross is so insane that she isn't afraid of Baszler, although if their match at NXT TakeOver: Chicago proved anything, it's that she probably should have been. The champion dealt out a lot of punishment to Cross, but the Sanity member kept coming back for more with a smile on her face. Eventually, The Queen Of Spades resorted to what she knows best, choking people out. Once the hold was locked in there was no escape for Cross. She may not have tapped, but once she passed out the referee had no choice but to declare Baszler the winner.

2. Aleister Black Turns Lars Sullivan's Lights Out

Aleister Black may not have been in NXT for very long, but in that short time, he has proved that he can go head to head with anyone and likely win. Fans are already dying to see what he can do on the main roster. Over WrestleMania weekend though, The Dutch Destroyer became NXT Champion, and this past Saturday in Chicago marked his first televised defense of that title. It was in a match against Lars Sullivan, a man that appeared to be unbeatable before this weekend. Black attempted to hit Sullivan with his patented Black Mass in the build to this match, but his monstrous opponent blocked it with ease. Turns out Sullivan just needed softening up. Saying that even after a grueling match it took two of Black's finishers back to back to keep him down for a three count.

1. The Gargano/Ciampa Saga Rolls On

For the second TakeOver in a row, Johnny Gargano versus Tomasso Ciampa was the main event, and you will hear no complaints from us. After their last match, most fans were likely wondering what more they could possibly do to one another. Well, this match answered that question. Both men wrestled with what felt like the intent of killing each other. Anything and everything was used to inflict pain, including Ciampa dismantling the ring so that the boards under the mat were exposed. Things looked to have ended when Gargano sent himself and Ciampa crashing through tables onto concrete. Johnny Wrestling wasn't done though. He fought off officials and dragged his nemesis back to the ring, forcing him to tap out twice. Unfortunately, the referee was not present to see it. The official had returned when Ciampa delivered a DDT to Gargano onto those exposed boards though. That proved enough to keep him down for three, and it would seem that these two are not done yet. What more they could possibly do to one another, we don't know.
