If it's a weekend featuring one of WWE's five biggest PPVs of the year, then the night before the show we have an NXT TakeOver to look forward to. This Saturday, NXT is bringing back WarGames for the second straight year. A match with decades of history that we didn't see in WWE until 2017. It's a pretty stacked card in terms of talent, but not in terms of matches. TakeOver cards normally feature five bouts but this one has just four. That likely means the WarGames match is going to be given an awful lot of time. NXT TakeOver WarGames starts at 7 pm EST on Saturday, November 17, 2018, and the only place to watch it is the WWE Network.

Pete Dunne, Ricochet, and War Raiders vs The Undisputed ERA in a WarGames match

You can't call an event WarGames without having a WarGames match on the card. Two rings, one cage, a match born in the NWA and one we never thought we would see in WWE. Then, last year, for the first time ever, we did. This second time around, The Undisputed ERA has to step inside the demonic structure once again. Adam Cole and co have made themselves a lot of enemies. UK Champion Pete Dunne, NXT North American Champion Ricochet, and the intimidating War Raiders. All eight men will step inside the cage for a match that guarantees anarchy. Can the makeshift babyface team overcome The ERA, though, who we know can work like a well-oiled machine?

Tomasso Ciampa vs Velveteen Dream for the NXT Championship

It will feel weird for an NXT TakeOver event not to be headlined by Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa. In fact, we're struggling to remember the last time that wasn't the case. At WarGames on Saturday, one of the two might be in the main event, but it will more than likely that neither of them is. That slot will be reserved for the match above. Meanwhile, the first man not named Gargano that Ciampa will have to defend his title against is Velveteen Dream. The build to this one hasn't been outstanding, but rest assured, the in-ring action will make up for that. Sadly, we're not expecting Dream to pull off a shock and win this one, though.

Johnny Gargano vs Aleister Black

Ciampa has actually rediscovered his soft sport for Gargano recently. Ever since Johnny Wrestling revealed that he was the one who attacked Aleister Black by blindsiding him with a superkick. Speaking of which, we feel as if that amazing segment hasn't received anywhere near the credit it deserves. There were so many moving parts, from Regal with the mic, to a crazed Nikki Cross, to any number of other supporting actors that made it as great as it was. Plus, since then, Black still hasn't had a chance to get his revenge. That will come this Saturday at WarGames in a match we're assuming is going to be the best of the night, if not the entire weekend.

Shayna Baszler vs Kairi Sane for the NXT Women's Championship

via wwe.com

The last NXT TakeOver took place three months ago. That means the other three matches on this card have had a lot of time to build and establish. Kairi Sane versus Shayna Baszler is a little different, though. The two Superstars competed at WWE Evolution less than a month ago. In that match, Baszler became the first wrestler to ever win the NXT Women's Title twice. On that night, her fellow horsewomen Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke helped her achieve that feat. Those two will likely be in attendance to help her retain the title, and to stop Sane from also becoming a two-time champion. However, if she does lose, we fully expect to see Baszler and co show up to either help or hinder Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series.
