WWE Superstar Paige has been sidelined after suffering a horrendous freak accident during a house match which was particularly sad because she'd previously made an against-all-odds return from Spinal Stenosis.
Now the former SmackDown Live General Manager has her eyes set on her second miraculous return following a segment on this weeks live which saw two people who made similarly unexpected returns from career-ending injuries interact.
On this week's SmackDown Edge bumped into several Superstars backstage, teasing several dream matches. Notably, Edge bumped into Daniel Bryan during the episode which is interesting because both men were previously barred from competing after suffering, at the time, career-threatening injuries but both have made miracle returns.
This interaction wasn't lost on Paige who has previously had to deny that she plans on returning to the ring. But her response to the above tweet this time paints a very different story, one of hope.
Paige's previous return, where she formed the stable Absolution with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, was an incredibly promising one and looked like it was going to propel Paige back into the same levels of stardom as Charlotte and Becky Lynch, which is arguably where she belongs.
But then the angle was cut short following a freak injury that saw Paige experience temporary paralysis during a house show. This led to her being uncleared for action by WWE doctors and led to an emotional retirement.
The tweet does also go some way to suggest a timeline for Paige's return if indeed it does happen. She says 'fingers crossed one day' which means that she probably hasn't been told she can return yet but has hoped it will happen at some point in the future.
